Recharging Station

She stood beside her truck, breathing deeply to soak in as much of the soothing affects of the ocean breeze as possible. She came to this place for many reasons, today to recharge and try to loosen the clutching grip that stress had on her life. Once again she was faced with the realization that she had to free herself from the shackles of darkness that invaded her life, and once again, she was at a loss for how to do so. She silently whined in her brain that the realization should be enough to force stress to release hold of her, but whining did nothing but add to the tightness enveloping her. She looked into the side-view mirror of the truck wondering how to begin the search for herself. Mocking in frustration as she pointed at her reflection “You’re right there”. Again silently complaining that the knowledge that she had to do something should be enough to fix what was wrong.

She walked along the sandy shore, still lost in thoughts and ponders, the grip of stress seaming to loosen, if only just slightly, still noticeably. She once again felt the magic of the sea air sink deep into her system empowering herself, blowing away the fog in her brain and helping her to focus. Life was simpler, troubles less intense and fantasy more possible while she stayed here.

Fully recharged, she regretfully turned away from her haven to return to reality which would begin sapping the clarity and comfort that she now felt. She had not solved the puzzle of how to release her stress or find herself, but she had filled her stores to the brim with the courage and encouragement she needed to get through the next period of her life, until she could come back to her magic place and recharge once again.
